What to include

It saves a round trip if you mention:

  • Your iPhone or iPad model and iOS version (Settings › General › About)
  • Which screen you were on, what you did, and what you expected to happen
  • Your instrument and tuning, for anything about the tuner or Listen mode
  • For the Backing Band: the genre and feel, Follow Me or Setup, and whether you used headphones or the speaker
  • A screenshot or a short screen recording, if it shows the problem

Quick fixes

The tuner or Listen mode can't hear you

Turn on microphone access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone. Then raise Menu › Settings › Mic Sensitivity for quiet instruments.

The needle wanders on a low string

Check that the Tuner is set to your instrument and tuning, so it listens low enough for a bass, a cello or a drop tuning. Then let the string ring instead of plucking again.

The tuner stopped when you switched apps

That's expected. The tuner and the Key/Chord Finder listen only while they're on screen. The metronome, Backing Band and practice drills keep playing in the background.

The band didn't come in on Follow Me

Strum a few steady beats, then a clear chord. If it still waits, it comes in after a few seconds at the tempo you've set. A quieter room helps.

The band is drowning out your guitar

Use headphones, or plug your guitar in, so the mic hears only you. To turn one part down, use the Mix button beside Play.

Your song keeps playing while you tune

That's on purpose, so you can play along. Pause it in your music app when you want silence or a clean take.

Looper overdubs land late on Bluetooth headphones

Open Sync in the Looper and nudge them earlier. Wired headphones avoid the delay.

Notes show as sharps and you read flats

Choose either in Menu › Settings › Accidentals. Chords and scales stay spelled correctly for their key.

You can't find something that used to be in Resources

It's now in Menu › Theory (music theory) or Menu › Instruments (each instrument's scales and chords). Practice is a tab at the bottom.
